Responsible for all aspects of the business, from marketing, strategy development, finance, and accounting.  Provide strategic advice to entrepreneurs as well as small and medium sized companies around the globe.  More than 50 business plans developed for clients in a variety of industries, ranging from telecommunications, information technology, e-commerce, food and beverage, health, import and export, real estate, entertainment, sports, consulting, energy, security, non-profits, and others involving manufacturing, distribution, and retail, for private and public companies.  Business plans developed for clients have resulted in raising tens of millions of dollars directly by them or with  Mr. Paz's support.   Have also provided client advice and managed due diligence teams on mergers and acquisitions.

Vice President for Latin America, FLAG Telecom, Miami, Florida, from 2001 to 2002

Responsible for coordinating the development of the Region’s Business Plan, executing Account Plans, and meeting sales quotas for telecommunications capacity and IP services.

Business Development Director with Alcatel, Madrid Spain, and Miami, Florida from 1998 to 2001

Global Account Manager for AT&T Latin America: Responsible for developing and executing the Key Account Plan (KAP) for this customer on a regional basis, with a regional sales quota of US$50 million.

Business Development Director for Spain, Portugal and Latin America:  Coordinated the development Alcatel’s Annual Three Year Strategic Plan for Latin America, used by the Region and Product Divisions, to assist in generation over $1.5 Billion in revenues.  Directed Alcatel’s marketing and business development activities, helping grow the Region’s revenues at a rate of over 20% per year from 1998 to 2001. Integral part of an international team that developed business cases for major Alcatel clients, resulting in awards to the company worth hundreds of millions of dollars per client.

President of Teleconsult, Inc., Washington, D.C., from 1989 to 1998

President: Responsible for running Teleconsult, a company that specializes in consulting services in the field of telecommunications, encompassing all facets of telecommunications engineering, economics, management and operations in all continents.  Managed over 50 people and grew the company’s revenues from under $1 million in 1989 to over $20 million by 1995, placing the company on the Inc’s 500 list of the fastest growing private US companies and the Hispanic Business 500.

Vice Chairman of Pocket Communications, Inc:  On behalf of Teleconsult, co-founded Pocket Communications, a winning bidder of 43 PCS licenses with coverage of over 35 million people in the U.S., approving Teleconsult's $1.2 million of seed capital for Pocket, and helping raise over $2 billion in equity and debt financing for purchasing Pocket's PCS licenses and operating capital

Project Engineer, MCI Telecommunications Corporation, McLean, Virginia, from 1984 to 1989 

Responsible for planning, technology development, and implementation of transmission systems for MCI's public and private networks.  Analytical skills allowed MCI to reduce millions of dollars in fiber optic transmission costs.

Data Transmission Engineer, Codenoll Technology Corporation, Yonkers, New York, from 1983 to 1984 

Responsible for design and evaluation of digital data transmitters and receivers for local area network (LAN) applications based on fiber optic and free space communication technology.


Holds a Master of Electrical Engineering from Cornell University (1983), and a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, also from Cornell University (1982). Has advanced PHD studies in telecommunications engineering and has taken numerous courses in business planning, economics, and accounting.
